Wild Rags: Our wild rags follow the kind worn by the original cowboys and fit the true character of the accurate re-enactor. Only some of the prints are modern style and color.
"The wild rags worn by the original cowboys were made of cotton, not silk. The cowboys of the 1900's were poorly paid and often made their wild rags from cotton as they did not have much money. Most cowboys got paid about $30 a month and could not afford expensive materials. They made their wild rags out of whatever cloth they could find, including feed sacks. They wore them dirty and didn't wash them. When it was worn out they found some cloth and made a new one. Silk wild rags are a modern fashion statement." - Lee Anderson, living historian, Executive Director – Pioneer Living History Village. {You can find his web page at: http://historicaloldwest.org}
